REID has expanded to three new countries this month, Hong Kong, South Korea and the UAE

This month we have secured distribution in Hong Kong, South Korea and UAE further promoting REID bikes as the international well loved bike brand that we are.  You can now buy REID from SSU International in Hong Kong and Watts Cycling in South Korea.

Troy Kniveton our International Account Manager went out to the UAE in May and met with Adventure HQ our distributor out there to discuss this exciting opportunity. Read more about Troy’s trip to the UAE here. 

REID goes to China

For those of you who have not been to Cycle China , it attracts a lot of foreign visitors and is a good chance for us to meet you, our customers, and tie in factory visits before or afterwards. We see great importance to attend shows such as this to meet all of you and take the opportunity of visiting our factory at the same time as very important.

We really enjoy going to visit our factories as it is always so productive. It gives us the chance to also discuss quality checks, new samples, and spec changes face to face. I feel we covered in two days what would have taken 2 weeks and 200 photos to do via email. It was also good  to first hand see the sheer scale of the bike share operation. While having a tour, which we do every time to see working procedures, cleanliness, assembly methods etc, we were impressed as usual. This showcases the importance we put in reassurance of our production and into the quality of our bikes and why we offer a lifetime warranty on rigid frame and forks on all our bikes.

REID hire International Marketing Executive

This month we expanded our international team in Bournemouth with this addition of Kyle Gouveia as our International Marketing Executive.

REID appoint Rob Akam as Managing Director

James Reid, owner and founder of REID this month appointed Rob Akam as the Managing Director of Reid Cycles UK Ltd, which handles all international operations and their sourcing division.

Rob Akam joined Reid Cycles in Australia in March 2012, where he quickly became National Sales Manager, then General Manger in the company’s biggest growth period. Here he made the brand a house hold name in Australia. In May 2014 he moved back to the UK to turn this consumer direct iconic Australia brand into a global brand to be sold through IBDs around the world. Now, three short years later, Reid bikes can be found in over 500 retailers in 17 countries.
