Reid Rider of the month for September is Kyle. Kyle is a cycling commuter and coffee shop explorer from the UK. Join us in finding out more about Kyle and his experience with a Reid Transit below.
Introduce yourself..
Hi! My name is Kyle, I live in the UK and I’m 25 years old! I work in finance at an investment bank, I love socialising, playing sports (badly), keeping fit and exploring new places and going on adventures.
Why did you get your hands on a Reid bike?
I have been surrounded by bikes for as long as I can remember! Being from a small town I used to ride to everywhere as a kid. Me and my friends would always cycle to school and when we would hang out after school. My step dad growing up was also a professional racing cyclist so I’m sure you can imagine that we never, ever heard the end of it!! Since staring a new job recently I am for the first time ever able to commute to work on a bike. I had a very old road bike which would not have been the most comfortable or practical to commute on and so the search began!
Which Reid bike do you ride? And how has it treated you?
The Reid Transit and it perfect! It’s a great bike for commuting, the build quality is amazing and it’s super comfortable.
What have you done and where have you been with your Reid?
I use my bike every day to go to and from work which is about 5 miles in total. I also like exploring new places and I’m really lucky to have a national park right on my doorstep which I can explore!
We know you’re big into your fitness, how does cycling work into your regime?
Cycling has not only been a great way to get to work for me but it’s also a great workout! Being able to get some exercise and some fresh air during my days which definitely beats being sat in a car in traffic!!
Do you have any other future adventures planned?
Me and my partner both love going to coffee shops on the weekends so in sure the next adventure will probably be going and exploring a new one!
Finally, what advice would you give to those who are considering getting into bike riding or perhaps have never tried it before?
Definitely get some help when looking at purchasing a new bike – especially if it if your first one! The sizing and different variations of bikes will make a huge difference to your experience so I’d always urge people to get some help deciding and getting the best bike for your needs! Apart from that just get out and ride, there’s so many places to explore and cycling allows to do that in a fun and easy way!
