In our third interview we meet Lenubu, our Spanish distributors who offer a wide range of bikes and accessories. Lenubu partnered with REID in 2015 and have gone from strength to strength, focusing on urban and vintage bicycle models.
In a recently study called the ‘Spanish Bicycle Barometer’ the cycling advocacy organization Red de Ciudades por la Bicicleta (Network of Cycling Cities) showed that more than eight percent or 3.8 million people use their bike every day while almost half the population in the country calls itself a frequent bicycle rider. Read on to find out how Lenubu have found their place in this growing market.
Tell us a bit about yourself and your business model?
We focus on the urban market providing our customers with original and high-quality products. Excellence is our work philosophy. We only import top-quality products that promote our sales and those of the stores that stock us.
Our relationship with clients goes beyond a vendor/customer relationship: we consider them partners with whom we can work with in order to achieve equal success. Our international search for products, storage and advice are three factors that have made us an extension of the stores we work with.
We’re always researching the latest trends and products, ensuring we’re one step ahead for the future. Thanks to this effort, we’re always able to offer the latest products that fit a range of different business models.
Beyond this, our main goal is to promote cycling. As cycling enthusiasts, we see bicycles as a lifestyle choice, protecting the environment and our health.
What made you decide to stock REID?
In Spain, the MTB and road markets are saturated, so we were looking for a range of classic and vintage bikes, as we saw a really interesting niche there.
Whilst searching for a vintage bicycle brand we came across REID, through further research and a face to face meeting we were convinced it was the perfect brand for us.
Our clients think REID is an urban bicycle brand with a strong focus on fashion. The range of bikes that we stock (Vintage and Lifestyle) match their needs for two reasons: style and competitive pricing.
What’s the secret to your success?
Our relationship with our retailers, the treatment we give them and our post-sales services are outstanding. We never reply late to an email, we solve any issue and we stay in touch to establish a close relationship. We’re not just wholesalers who sell to retailers, we’re partners.
What are your plans for the future?
Right now, to continue increase our market share in Spain.
What advice would you give anyone wanting to get into the industry?
