Tips to maximise your Electric Scooters battery life

Hi Everyone!

Maintaining your electric scooters battery is key to optimising your eScooters performance, so, this week we share some advice on how to make your eScooters battery life last longer. Our E4 and E4 Plus comes with 7.5AH High Capacity Pure Ternary Lithium Batteries which provide high performance and quality.  Your battery is onne of the key components to your electric scooters as it not only charges the scooter, it also is key to the scooters speed and range, so it’s important to try and get the most out of yours.

Tip 1 – Charge your battery when you can!

Our first bit of advice is to charge your electric scooters battery at every opportunity you can. This is because depleting your eScooters battery can be harmful to your scoooter and may reduce its performance. Pure Electric recommend keeping your eScooter above 50% battery (if possible) and to aim to charge your eScooter to 100% every 5-10 charging cycles. You’ve all heard the rumour that letting your battery on the phone decreases it’s life long-term and it does, so your eScotoer battery is no different.

Tip 2 – Use the correct charger

This may sound obvious but it is important to ensure that you are using the correct charger when charging your eScooters battery. Our E4 and E4 Plus both come with a charger that is made for them and comes included with your eScooter, therefore, this is the only charger that should be using. If you do happen to lose or break your charger, you can buy an external charger but this may have some adverse effect on your eScooters battery in the long term and even if it looks like it’s working, it may be charging improperly.

Tip 3 – eScooter temperature

Make sure to store your eScooter in a place ideally between 5-25 degrees for battery longevity. Keeping your eScooter stored in extreme hot temperatures may affect the battery, therefore you should store it in a cool place! On the other hand, storing your eScooter in extreme cold temperatures will reduce the capacity of the battery which will impact your eScooter range.

Our best advice is to keep and charge your eScooter in a cool place, not in direct sunlight!

Tip 4 – Allow for battery cool down

Our fourth tip is to allow time for the battery to cool down post-ride before charging it. Pure Electric recommend allowing 15 minutes (after riding) before charging your eScooter to ensure long term performance.

Tip 5 – Charge before storing your scooter away!

If you are storing your eScooter for a while, it is important to remember to charge your electric scooter before storing it. Pure Electric recommend charging your eScooter to 65% before storing it. If you’re thinking of storing it away for more than a month, then it is important to remember to check it every so often and top up the charge, if needed.

Tip 6 – Keep an eye on the display!

Both our E4 and E4 Plus show the battery life on the display which can be seen in the image below. This feature allows you to keep an eye on the amount of charge your battery has left which, therefore, keeps you updated on when you should charge your eScooter.

Looking after your eScooters battery is important in ensuring your eScooter performs to its best ability and it help makes sure that you are getting the most out of it! Following our top tips you’ll be on track to making sure your battery lasts a long time.
