Reid recently gifted Safiyya Vorajee with a Ladies Classic bike in pink. As many of you may know, sadly Safiyya and Ashley Cain lost their beautiful 8-month old baby girl, Azaylia earlier this year after her battle with AML (acute myeloid leukaemia).

Saf has openly been battling with her mental health during and after Azaylia’s fight had ended and continues to share her thoughts and coping mechanisms, cycling being one.

Back in May, Saf was looking for a bike that she could use to cycle to Azaylia’s grave and take out when she needed to clear her head and get some fresh air. The whole Reid team was heart broken for the family and were eager to help out.

After sharing some options with Saf, she chose the pink classic bike as her very own. Within 24 hours of first reaching out, Saf had her bike within 24 hours, and has since received some personalising items such as hand grips and a saddle to tie in with Azaylia’s special colour, orange.

Since receiving her bike Saf has mentioned how much she loves it and how useful it has been in helping her clear her mind. We know how difficult the last year has been for the family and are proud to be bringing them some comfort.

With a summer of bike rides ahead for Saf, we hope she enjoys her new bike and that it can bring her some joy after such a difficult time.

At Reid, we encourage you to explore your freidom to move. Exercise is proven to relieve mental health symptoms by reducing anxiety and stress. So whether you choose to cycle, scoot, paddle or other, we hope you too can enjoy the wonderful world that we live in and go on many new adventures.

In honour of Azaylia, may she rest in peace.
