This month, we interviewed Sykkelpikene, a Reid retailer with 8 stores across Norway! Sykkelpikene have been retailing Reid since 2019 and have always loved the ‘Copenhagen feeling’ our colourful Ladies Classic bikes bring to their customers. Read on to find out what cycling means to them!

Introduce yourselves…

Sykkelpikene opened an online store in 2010 from the founders garage. We took our inspiration from Copenhagen, where the women cycled with colourful bikes and had fun accessories.

We opened our first physical store in 2014 in Kristiansand. As of today, we have a warehouse of 3,000 square metres, a large online store as well as 8 stores in Norway!

Where can your store be found?

Our stores are located in Kristiansand, Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim, Oslo and Tønsberg.

What does cycling mean to you?

We believe that cycling should be fun and enjoyable for everyone. We value the appearance, quality and comfort of our bikes.

How do you integrate with your local community?

Several times throughout the year, we will hold various events and courses at our stores for our local community to join and learn all about the joy of cycling!

Do you have any interesting store stories that you can share with us?

We have to share something we see all the time in our stores. Women will come to our shop to test ride different bikes, and often their partner is only there for support with no intention of buying a new bike for himself. However, when the man chooses a bike to take part in the test ride, his attitude changes. He also wants a fun and comfortable bike from Sykkelpikene.

How long have you been a Reid retailer?

We have been retailing Reid since the Spring of 2019.

What is your best selling Reid product?

The vintage classic bikes for sure. We have sold several thousands of these since partnering with Reid back in 2019.

How has your experience with Reid been?

Reid is the perfect combination of offering quality bikes at a low price. Our customers love the look of the bikes and the Copenhagen feeling it gives.

Finally, what advice would you give to those who are considering getting into bike riding or perhaps have never tried it before?

Go to your nearest shop and test ride as many different bikes as you can. Find the exact bike that gives you the most smiles per mile.
